| 5196 | Gudgeon for Super Snark, Sea Snark, Sunflower, Sea Skimmer P62010 This is the plastic piece that attaches to the transom (back of the boat) and accepts the rudder pin to connect the rudder to the boat. The OEM version is all plastic but ours has a black plastic base plate and black-painted aluminum fittings mounted to it to accept the rudder pin. No iron or steel so no rust! This will not work as a replacement for the older gudgeon that looks like half a door hinge unless you also replace your rudder with a modern one. And if you are buying a new rudder for an old boat with "door-hinge" gudgeon, you need this gudgeon to mount the new rudder. For Sea Skimmer rudder see item 8023 (same thing but with eye added to tiller). - All metal rudder head, much stronger than the OEM plastic rudder head. -Adjustable length tiller for flexibility in where you sit -Bigger rudder blade for better control. And the blade is synthetic so it won't break or delaminate and neutral buoyancy so it won't float up. - Self-locking hand knob for adjusting blade angle and holding it in place. No wrench needed! - Rudder pin is an eyebolt with wingnut not an L-pin with cotter so it is so much easier to insert and you can tie a cord into the eye so the pin won't get lost! Tiller length adjusts from 0 to 3 feet. Custom lengths available at extra cost. Usually leaves here in 2 business days, Monday thru Thursday. The adjustable length tiller lets you sit farther forward when you sail solo and farther back when you have a passenger. If you have the old metal gudgeon then there is no rudder available that is compatible, so you have to replace the metal one with the new plastic design that is compatible with today's rudders.
