Dacron is the sail material used in sails for most larger boats, because it is more durable and holds its shape better than nylon. A nylon sail stretches more in high wind, which can reduce your upwind performance. For years, we've sold Dacron sails that are custom made as an upgrade, as an upgrade taking 6 weeks and costing more than this sail. Now this sail brings down the price and eliminates the long wait.
