NuCanoe Sail Kit

See video below (scroll down to center video window on your screen, click arrow to start video).   More info, ordering links below video.

Green boat at left is the new Frontier model.  Sail kit and pricing are the same except mast is a little further aft on the Frontier sail kit to keep the hatch unobstructed.  The front assembly therefore has a "U" configuration instead of the "T" configuration used on the yellow boat above (original NuCanoe).  Installation requires no drilling on the original NuCanoe.  On the Frontier, 2 holes are required into the hatch area (so, no risk of creating leakage since they only go through top surface).

With either model, you have a broad choice of sail color schemes.  See your sail choices here.    Your sail will not have the large logo seen above on the blue sail.

This is a long page so keep scrolling down.  Next you'll see a video, then below that are product descriptions with ordering links.

For best performance and greatest stability, get the rig with hydrodynamic rigid stabilizer floats. For greatest portability, we offer inflatable stabilizer floats. We also offer the rig without stabilizer floats. More info: Jim@SailboatsToGo.com  Sail kit options listed below.

Most popular model is item 1028 below, plus the item 301 "deluxify" package giving you larger sail, taller/stronger mast and carry bag.

301 Deluxify Your Sail Kit or Sailboat Order
This item upgrades a sail kit or complete sail kit and kayak package that you are buying. Put this item in your shopping cart and it will (a) switch your mast to heavy duty (b) switch your sail to the large 55 S.F. size and add the necessary spar extension to do that and (c) add an oversized heavy-duty sail kit carry bag with padded shoulder strap. This item (item 301) cannot be bought by itself. It is an upgrade item that you buy along with a sail kit or a complete sail kit and boat combination. If you want to upgrade further, consider adding the item 5092 leeboard upgrade, hydrodynamic stabilizers (1006) and electric pump.

1027 NuCanoe Sail kit with inflatable stabilizers
Click for larger imageSail kit for the NuCanoe with inflatable stabilizer pontoons. No drilling or other modification of your boat required. See item 1028 for rigid pontoon version. Inflatable pontoons are more portable and lower in price. They work well. However, they are not adjustable vertically, which is no issue for sailing (you would have them all the way up regardless) but perhaps a drawback if you also wanted to use them for fishing. Accessories and upgrades to consider: Carry bag (3031, 3012, 6005), heavy duty mast, Dacron sail, larger sail (5011). Includes: Sail, mast, spars, leeboards, steering and all necessary straps, hardware and instructions.  Please specify in comments section of your order which NuCanoe model you have so we can send you the right version of our sail kit.

1029 NuCanoe Sail Kit with No Stabilizer Pontoons
Click for larger imageWe recommend stabilizer pontoons when sailing the NuCanoe. However, we did fine without them sailing solo in moderate conditions with the larger model NuCanoe. With a second person aboard, we needed the stabilizers because there is not enough freeboard. See item 1027 or 1028 for additional details (except for pontoons, it's the same kit).  Please specify in comments section of your order which NuCanoe model you have so we can send you the right version of our sail kit.
