Unique upgrade options you won't find elsewhere: Upgrade to bigger sail (item 5011); add shoulder-strap carry bag; design your own colorful dacron sail that will be custom made for you in standard size or bigger size. Add a High Seat that lets you easily slide your weight from one side to the other. Steer by rudder instead of steering oar, even in a pointed-stern canoe (see items 1018, 1019 & 1020). Scroll to bottom of page for order area with details and prices of these items.
Enjoy the thrilling power of nature's own wonderful wind. Feel that power in the tug of the sail on the rope in your hand, and the throb of the steering oar in your other hand as its blade knifes through the rushing water. You make slight adjustments of steering-oar angle and the sailing canoe instantly responds like a well-trained roping horse. See your outrigger pontoon swooshing in the water like a little torpedo, sending a miniature wake out behind it. Sailing your canoe, you feel like you're in a speedboat, but it's quiet -- the only sound is the bump, bump, bump of the canoe hull against the water as it slaps the waves.

Sailing Canoes Are Not Just Some New Untested Idea
There is a long history to the sport of canoe sailing, going back over a hundred years. There are canoe sailing clubs, canoe sailing books, canoe sailing websites, and thousands of sailing canoe sailors all over the world. Look for Elmer Eubanks' testimonial on our Testimonials page where he talks about how his SailboatsToGo canoe sail rig transports him back to his childhood, when he used to sail with his grandfather in a canoe.
Put a sail on your canoe: Suddenly you will find yourself spending many more happy hours on the water than you did back in your paddle-only days. A sailing canoes is addictive!
SailboatsToGo is the only canoe sail rig with a convert-to-inflatable sailboat option available. Why not have this extra versatility? Even if you don't buy the inflatable sailboat conversion kit today, it's still an option for the future IF you go with SailboatsToGo for your canoe sail rig. The inflatable sailboat is even more portable and more comfortable. And kids love it. Store it under a bed or in the back of closet. Bring it anywhere, even in checked airline baggage. Variety in our lives keeps us young and enthusiastic. Give yourself TWO sailing options instead of just one. The inflatable sailboat is an absolute gas and an attention getter, so it's fun to show off!
Another SailboatsToGo advantage is that we offer the option to (a) upgrade to a bigger sail (55 square feet instead of 45 square feet) for more speed in light winds, or (b) buy both sail sizes See items 5011 - 5013 below. We also offer a heavy-duty mast upgrade option, for those who are going to push the limits in high winds, and custom-made dacron sails -- you choose the color scheme -- as an upgrade to our standard Nylon multi-color sails! Another exclusive option: Larger, unbreakable leeboards (item 5092).
Our standard canoe rig is made by Spring Creek, which makes rigs under its own brand as well as providing them to most of the rest of the canoe sail kit sellers on the internet, but then we add all these options and improvements that are unique to SailboatsToGo.

Super Snark Sailboat and Sunflower Owners
You've already got a sail, mast and spars that will work with our rigs and inflatable sailboats, so send us an email and we'll sell you the rest for $200 off. Sales@sailboatstogo.com When that Snark stryofoam hull dies, consider replacing it with an inflatable hull or a canoe. Even while the Snark hull lasts, it will be fun to have different hulls your sail will work on. The inflatable and the canoe hold more people and offer more comfort (back support!) and keep you dryer (sail even in the Spring and Fall!) so we think you will find they really enhance your enjoyment. Canoe sail rig with ethafoam stabilizer floats & FREE SHIPPING Everything needed to make your canoe into a sailboat INCLUDING the optional stabilizer floats and outrigger arms to help keep you from capsizing when the wind blows hard. Front crossbar will be 40" (good for 99% of canoes) unless you email us and request different. Long works on narrow canoe but short could be a problem on a wide canoe. Other two crossbars are adjustable. Close-Up Pictures
If you will be sailing in conditions that drive the stabilizers hard into the water and fast through the water, consider either upgrade to hydrodynamic floats or adding float braces for foam floats. High Seat is a good option so you are better positioned to balance the canoe to keep floats above the water.
Options to consider adding: Upgrade to larger sail and/or heavy duty mast and/or Hydrodynamic Floats and/or custom dacron sail (pick your own color scheme!). Add a heavy duty carry bag with shoulder strap. Add High Seat for a more flexible seating position (item 1007) giving you more ability to balance the canoe. Add waterproof floating cellphone case for the safety of secure communications. See item 1008 below for a package that includes all the upgrades in one price with free shipping on everything.
Canoe Sail Rig w/out Stabilizer Floats & FREE SHIPPING Same as rig with stabilizer floats except, um, no stabilizer floats. Easy to add the floats later if you decide you need them (and you are still alive). Seriously, some canoes are stable enough, some sailors are skilled enough, and some waters are safe enough so that stabilizer floats are not always needed. Front crossbar will be 40" (good for 99% of canoes) unless you email us and request different. Long works on narrow canoe but short could be a problem on a wide canoe. Other two crossbars are adjustable.
Stabilizer Floats (foam) and arms for Our Sail Rig or Rowing Rig Ethafoam floats on aluminum outrigger arms that slide into the main crossbar of the sail rig to help keep you from tipping over. Mostly for canoes and kayaks, but also work on inflatable dinghies with our sail rig if you feel the need. The inflatables dinghies are very stable even without them, but not impossible to tip. To use on canoe, without buying sail rig, order our "Stabilizer system: Floats + Crossbar + Clamps" (listed on both parts and canoe rig pages, item 5005). The item #1000 canoe kit already has these included. For motoring or sailing, consider item #1006 hydrodynamic style or the inflatable style instead.
Conversion Kit - Canoe Sail Rig to Inflatable Sail Rig This package contains all the parts necessary to cross-fit your Canoe Rig to a Sevylor or other compatible inflatable! Increase your sailing opportunities! Great for teaching kids to sail. Grownups love the comfort and convenience of inflatable sailboats. Order inflatable boat separately on our "Boats" page (just click "Boats" tab at top of page). Boats available under $100.
Hydro-Dynamic Stabilizer Floats & Arms (without the crossbar the arms slide into) Longer and more streamlined than the foam floats, but otherwise the same idea. These are pontoons on telescoping arms that can be added to most of our sail rigs to help prevent capsizing. The foam floats are lighter and shorter and priced lower. So, they are more portable and more affordable. If you think of stabilizer floats as insurance, and you don't intend to drag them through the water, but instead plan to have them above the water ready to catch you if you start to tip, then you don't care about drag. But if you are going to be leaning over enough to have a float in the water while moving, then these hydro-dynamic floats will cause less drag and are worth the extra $99. Compared to foam floats, they are also higher bouyancy. Crossbar & gunwale clamps not included. See item 5026 for a complete stabilizer. MORE DETAILS CLICK HERE
High Seat - Special add-on canoe seat A great canoe sailing accessory. Two benefits: (1) Gives you a high, wide bench seat so you can easily shift your weight side to side to counterbalance the force of the wind and keep the canoe upright; (2) Lets you put your seat where you want it, to improve bow-to-stern balance, especially good for solo sailing to keep the bow down. When you have the freedom to shift your weight all the way over to the windward side and even a little beyond, it adds a whole new dimension to canoe sailing. Your skill in balancing the canoe will add to your speed and your fun. Also works great as a table or workbench on the water. 8" x 37" x 1/2" and strong enough for a 300-pounder. Full page of details Click Here Caution: Use with Hydrodynamic stabilizer floats or accept greater risk of capsizing due to higher center of gravity.
Deluxe canoe sail rig package Our canoe sail rig plus all recommended upgrades (red words are links): (1) complete canoe sail kit, (2) heavy duty mast upgrade, (3) larger nylon sail upgrade, (4) "High Seat" clamp-on seat, lets you slide your fanny from one side to the other to counterbalance the sail, (5) hydrodynamic stabilizer float upgrade,
(6) extra steering oar so you can steer with either hand without transfering the steering oar from one side to the other, (7) floating waterproof case, for cellphone (great safety item), small camera or GPS, (8) heavy-duty carry bag for sail rig with padded shoulder strap. All this, plus free domestic (lower 48) shipping on everything.
Consider adding: Rowing outriggers (item 5030), wheels (item 5006).
Dacron sail: If you prefer a custom dacron sail (4 - 6 weeks for delivery), it's $49 additional. Send us an email ( Jim@sailboatstogo.com ) -- we'll do the swap and charge your card. Want a 45 SF nylon sail to use while you're waiting for the dacron? It's only $89 (plus the $49 for the dacron upgrade).
Spirit Sail - 17 Sq. Ft. - Downwind Only - Canoe or Kayak 17 sq. ft. spirit sail will take your canoe or kayak downwind effortlessly. Easy put up and take down once base is installed on your boat. Also available in half size (item 1010). Includes a bolt-on base which requires you to drill holes in deck. No-hole installation possible - see items 1011 and 1012. MORE INFO CLICK HERE
Inflatable stabilizer floats and arms Rugged, yet more portable than our other stabilizer floats because they deflate. Very puncture resistant and they inflate quickly and easily with just a few puffs by mouth -- no need to carry a pump. They have one-way valves, so blow in as hard as you can to top them off and then take your time screwing the cap on. The one-way valves will keep the air from rushing back out and since they can take all the pressure your lungs can give them, you can inflate them hard. They have dual side-by-side mounting rings that attach them to their aluminum arms, so they are firmly held pointing straight ahead. This item is not designed with the up/down adjustment. This item is just floats and arms for adding to a sail kit, rowing setup, or other product that already has crossbar for them to slide into. See next item if you want that up/down adjusting inflatable floats. For sailing, you use floats in all-the-way-up position anyway, so if that's the intended use of your stabilizers, you don't need up/down adjustment. Click Here for Video -- But note float arms are straight, silver color and longer than those in this video
Upgrade stabilizer floats from foam to inflatable Add this item to your cart only if you are also buying a sail kit or other item that normally comes with ethafoam floats. This item deletes the ethafoam floats from your product and adds inflatable stabilizer floats and arms as described above at item 1013. For shipping to foreign countries, use the "without stabilizer floats" shipping cost because these are so easy to ship.
Windpaddle Adventure downwind sail - like a kite Fly this from your kayak deck or canoe thwart, or from your inflatable boat. Like flying behind a kite (but lower -- it stays right in front of you so you can control it). Nothing to bolt on. MORE INFO CLICK HERE
Canoe Sail Rig For Stabilizer Owners If you already own a stabilizer from us or Spring Creek this is the item to order. It is the complete canoe sail kit with 45 SF nylon sail, minus the stabilizer floats, front crossbar and its gunwale clamps (minus the components of the stabilizer you already own, in other words). To upgrade to larger sail and heavy duty mast add item 5011. Swap mast only for heavy duty is item 5016, custom dacron sail (item 5017 for 45 SF or 5060 for 55 SF dacron with mast upgrade included).
Extras to consider: High seat (item 1007), Carry bag (item 6005), waterproof floating cellphone case (item 5015). The item 6005 carrybag is a HUGE convenience and you'll be impressed with the quality of it. Leeboard upgrade (item 5092). Extra steering oar is item 5031 -- we like sailing with two steering oars because (a) we prefer steering with the oar on the downwind side, and with an oar on each side we don't have to move it from one side to the other and (b) for maneuvering in close quarters around other boats, a dock or swimmers, we can propel the boat short distances using the two steering oars together -- no need to pick up a paddle.
Shipment to UK, Europe, Japan is item 6009.
Canoe Side Rudder - complete with mount Now you can use a conventional rudder even on a canoe and it doesn't have to be a square back canoe. This rudder unit works like a canoe motor mount: Crossbar clamps across the gunwales and sticks out on one side, and rudder pivots off the crossbar. This is the complete unit: crossbar, rudder mount, gunwale clamps, rudder & tiller.
Canoe side rudder - substitute for steering oar Use this item to delete the steering oar unit and steering oar from a canoe sail kit you are ordering today and substitute in the complete side rudder unit. This item number can only be used with a canoe sail kit purchase. We like sailing with a steering oar. But we know some prefer a conventional rudder. The advantage of the rudder is less arm effort, less drag. The advantage of the steering oar is lower cost and you have steering control even if the boat loses forward momentum.
Side Rudder to be used with steering oar crossbar If you already have or are ordering the complete canoe sail kit and want to have the additional option of steering by side rudder, order this item. It comes with a rudder mount that attaches to the steering oar crossbar of the canoe sail kit. It does not have its own crossbar and gunwale clamps (see item 1018 for unit with its own crossbar and clamps). It does not prevent use of the steering oar. Selecting this item will not delete anything from a canoe sail kit ordered at the same time (it is not a substitution item - see item 1019 to get rudder as a substitution).
Canoe sail rig if you already have our stabilizer If you already have a SailboatsToGo/Spring Creek canoe stabilizer, this rig is minus all the parts you already have. In other words, it is item 1001 (Canoe sail rig without stabilizer floats) minus the front crossbar and its gunwale clamps. You will use the stabilizer floats, crossbar and gunwale clamps of your stabilizer to complete this rig.
Shipping sail rig with floats to W. Europe, UK, Ireland, Japan When buying a sail kit with stabilizer rigid floats for shipment to Western Europe, UK, Ireland, etc. please add this item to cover added shipping (airmail priority by post office). Use item 6009 instead for rigs without stabilizer floats or with only inflatable floats. This applies to canoe, kayak and inflatable boat sail kits with rigid stabilizer floats to listed destinations. Please email Jim@sailboatstogo.com for other countries.
Sliding leeboard mounts (Pair) Allows you to adjust position of leeboards on our kayak, and inflatable boat sail kits (excluding kits for Pakboat, SVX200 & similar, where mast position is adjustable instead). Following the instructions provided, you will be able to fine-tune your rig for the combination of hull, sail, sailing conditions and preferences you have. Farther forward gives slightly better upwind performance. Farther back (up to a point) gives less drag and less effort on steering oar to hold course going straight ahead. Too far back gives control problems. Adjustable positioning allows you to adapt rig to wider variety of boats, and to your desired handling characteristics. The inflatable rig and the kayak rig work on rigid canoes if you get sliding leeboard mounts and 2 pair of gunwale clamps. (Canoes need the leeboards farther forward than the standard fixed position for kayaks and inflatables). Changing leeboard position with these sliding mounts requires no tools and can be done in a few seconds provided you aren't also trying to sail the boat at the same time. Do on shore or let your passenger do it for you, so you are not distracted from your duties as skipper!
14-foot Inflatable Sailing Kayak -- Our Fastest Inflatable Sailboat - Sevylor SVX200DS & our sail rig Fast, nimble, rugged, stiff and portable -- that's our 14-foot (13' 8") inflatable sailing kayak. The hull is a Sevylor SVX 200DS (164" long x 34" beam) River X K2 Kayak . We've designed a special sail rig for it, that leaves most of the hull unencumbered by any metal parts, so you can sit on the sides, lean over the windward side to hike out, or paddle without interference from the sail rig. (Sail rig alone - see item 2021). This is our fastest inflatable sailboat, because of its length and sleek hull shape. Bow and stern come to a sharp point with upward curve (rocker) so that it rides over or cuts through choppy water. Upwind performance is good. Room enough for two. Air chambers have non-stretch skin that allows you to inflate them hard. This is a very high-quality kayak. Tracks very well for paddling. Includes kayak & sail rig with 45-sq. ft. nylon sail in multicolor design (red, white, blue & yellow). Boat is stable enough to sail without stabilizer floats (order separately), but more stable with them. Bag for boat included. Weight of boat is 35 lbs. Sail rig is about 34 lbs. Click HERE for video. Options to consider (sold separately): Upgrade to 55-sq. ft. nylon or custom dacron sail (picture at left has custom dacron 55-squ.-ft. sail). Heavy-duty mast. Pump. Paddle. Carry bag for sail rig. Stabilizer floats. More pictures, videos, details: Click Here
Almost Universal Sail Rig - Fits rigid canoes/ kayaks; inflatable dinghies/canoes/kayaks Want one sail rig for your whole fleet? This one will do an inflatable dinghy, a rigid canoe, or a kayak. It has hydrodynamic stabilizer floats, one steering oar, leeboards, sliding leeboard mounts, canoe gunwale clamps, mast, sail, spars -- the works. Everything you will need to sail a canoe one day, an inflatable dinghy (e.g., Mariner, Sevylor Caravelle or Intex Seahawk) the next day, and inflatable or rigid kayak the next. Please let us know the boats you will using it on. Options to consider: Carrying bag (3012 or 6005), upgrade to larger sail and heavy-duty mast (5011). No drilling or other modification of your boats is required.
Carry Bag - fits sail rigs or canoe stabilizers This handy duffel bag is custom made to fit all the parts for the inflatable boat sail kit, or the Canoe Kit minus the outrigger floats. And, it is within the allowable dimensions for your free baggage allowance on the airlines. Great for a canoe stabilizer; fits floats and crossbar. Actual bag is even better than pictured: Is dark color and has shopping bag handles in center of strong webbing in addition to shoulder strap. Dimensions are 47" x 9" x 7" with full-length zipper and shoulder strap.
We also have a larger, more heavy-duty bag -- see item 6005 -- same price!
Book On Learning To Sail -- Jim's Favorite We've read them all (almost) and this is the best "How-To-Sail-For- Beginners" type book out there. It's the one used by the Annapolis Sailing School. It's got one female author and one male author, so both halves of our species were represented in its creation, which for a "how-to" book is a good thing.
Jim Luckett says: "It's clear, well written, well illustrated, and correct."
We do provide "How To Sail" instructions (written and illustrated by Jim himself) with our sail kits, plans, and sailboats, but if you like to have things explained 2 different ways to help make them stick, read this book too. Paperback.
Sail Kit for Pakboats SailboatsToGo folding portable sail kit for Pakboats. Video Link. This is the sail kit only (no boat, no stabilizer floats). Pakboats are a line of folding canoes and kayaks with interior aluminum frame, non-inflatable PVC skin, and inflatable tubes between the frame and skin. Under sail, they're fast and go great to windward. If you're skeptical of inflatables, but want extreme portability, this may be the boat for you. The sail kit includes everything you need to "sailboatize" a pakboat: sail, mast, leeboards, steering oar, framework to hold it all together and clamps to clamp it to the pakboat. This is the basic kit with one steering oar, 45 SF red/yellow/blue/white sail & no stabilizer floats. See also deluxe package item 3026. We strongly recommend adding our hydrodynamic stabilizers (item 1006)to this item or getting the deluxe package that includes stabilizers and other accessories. Upgrades available besides stabilizers include, upgrade to 55 SF sail (item 5011 - really not needed unless winds are very light - & heavy duty mast, standard or heavy-duty bag for sail kit (item 3012 or 6005), second steering oar (item 5031). With a second steering oar, you can propel the boat by rowing if the wind dies, and you can switch steering hands without shifting an oar from one side to the other. More Info
Deluxe Sail Kit for Pakboats See description of the basic product at item 3025. With the deluxe kit you get: Hydrodynamic stabilizer floats (pontoons on outriggers), a second steering oar, and a large, heavy-duty carrying bag. Upgrades available include heavy duty mast and/or larger 55 SF sail (adding item 5011 to your cart will upgrade any sail kit to heavy duty mast and 55 SF yellow & white nylon sail -- not really necessary for this very light, low-drag hull). Custom dacron sails available at extra cost (you choose the color scheme and wait for it to be made). For package deal on boat with deluxe sail kit, see item 3027.
Pakboat Puffin II folding kayak with deluxe sail kit An open folding kayak for 2 people with our deluxe sail kit (see description for item #3026 for what this includes). This is a complete sailboat in two duffel bags. The kayak (you could call it a canoe) weighs just 28 lbs, yet has a capacity of 2 persons/400 lbs and a length of 14 feet. Kayak assembles in about 20 minutes (twice that the first few times); similar for the sail kit. We're excited about the speed, portability and upwind sailing ability of this sailboat. The kayak is a non-inflatable PVC skin over and aluminum tubing frame. Between the frame and the skin are 2 inflatable tubes on each side, for safety and to tighten the skin. You will feel this boat flex under stress, just like a traditional eskimo kayak, but like an eskimo kayak, it's plenty strong. For more info see our Pakboat sail kit page. Click Here
Sail 45 sq ft dacron Custom made 45 SF sail in Dacron fits Snark, SailboatsToGo, Spring Creek and Sea Eagle boats. Excellent workmanship and high quality materials. Dacron is theoretically more efficient at converting wind to boat-moving power than any other fabric, but we don't see a measurable difference in a head-to-head race with our standard nylon sail. These are made after they are ordered, so allow about 3 to 6 weeks. Wide choice of colors (Red, white, 3 shades of blue, turquoise, green, yellow, 2 shades of orange, purple, gold, black, gray, tanbark, pink) and the 4 panels of the sail can be different. Not returnable unless defective. If you want this sail INSTEAD of the standard sail in a sail kit or sailboat you are ordering today, choose item 5017 instead. Item 5017 is for substitutions (upgrading something you are buying today). This item is for buying the sail on its own (not as a substitute). Sail color page .
Canoe stabilizer system: Foam floats + arms+ crossbar + clamps = stability! Please email us after ordering to specify canoe width & brand. Canoe stabilizers: Crossbar clamps to your gunwales. Outrigger arms slide into the crossbar tunnels and snap into place; can be slid all the way in to bring floats tight to hull for getting into tight places. Float height is adjustable: Up for sailing or paddling, down to the water for fishing, swimming, etc. These really work, even when going fast (see the video! Click link on Canoe Rig page). Lighter and more portable than competitors' products, yet rugged and effective! Click photo to englarge. See more photos on our "Gallery" page (click tab at top right). There is a "more details" link on the "Parts" page that takes you to a whole page just on stabilizers. Our canoe stabilizers are great for fishing, sailing, and peace of mind! Please email us after ordering and specify 30", 36", 40" or 45" crossbar (your canoe width + 2" and round up). If canoe gunwale lip is on the outside, add 4" to canoe width. Email: Jim@sailboatstogo.com Also available with "Hydrodynamic" floats -- larger, more streamlined, hard tough plastic at added cost. more info click here
Canoe wheels - fits canoes with sail rig or stabilizer system Quickly attaches to or detaches from main cross bar of the canoe rig or canoe stabilizer system. Just roll your canoe down the trail to the water's edge. Don't have a stabilizer or canoe sail kit and don't want one? Buy crossbar and clamps to accept wheels (item 5034). 16" diameter, fat tires for easier rolling in sand or soft ground -- like the tires on a contractor's wheel barrow. See item 5063 for same thing but with thinner, 12" tires.
Bigger Sail Upgrade -- 55 square foot nylon sail, heavy duty mast, spar extension Select this item to DELETE the 45-square-foot sail from your order of a sail rig or complete sailboat and SUBSTITUTE a 55-square-foot nylon sail. Includes spar extension to carry the larger sail, plus sail, plus free upgrade to heavy duty mast. Bigger sail provides more speed in light to moderate winds (5-12 mph). This price is only for substitution. If you are not ordering something that normally includes a 45 sf sail, you must use item 5012 instead for this item.
More Pictures Click Here See item 5060 for a luxury alternative: Upgrade from the standard sail to a custom-made dacron sail in your choice of colors.
55 square foot sail and spar extension, plus mast upgrade Add a second sail to your sail kit so you have a choice of sail size: This item is a 55-square foot sail and a spar extension that snaps onto our spars so they will accept the larger sail. Larger sail gives you more speed in light to moderate winds (5 - 12 mph). Select item 5011 instead if you want to substitute this sail for 45 SF sail. Select this item to get the larger sail without deleting 45 SF sail. Heavy-duty mast upgrade included (must have a sailkit or a standard mast in same order to qualify for upgrade).
More Pictures Click Here Consider getting a second spar set so you can keep both sails mounted on spars for quicker change over (item 5003).
Waterproof case for cell phone, GPS, small camera A cell phone in a waterproof bag could be the most important piece of safety equipment on your boat. Bring a GPS along and clock your speed, chart your heading and bearing, and measure your upwind sailing ability.
A small camera might fit.
Measures 2 1/2" x 7" x 1"

Heavy duty mast upgrade Twice as strong on the bottom half of the mast, so you can keep the sail up high even in stronger winds. With the standard mast, when the white caps appear, it's time to lower the sail a foot to reduce strain on the mast. Only a pound heavier. Still fits in the optional rig bag. Not shock-corded. Pieces lock together with spring button instead. This price is to substitute this mast for the standard mast when ordering a rig. Don't put this in your shopping cart if you are getting it free with upgrade to 55 SF nylon sail. Just email jim@sailboatstogo.com to say you want the free upgrade in that case.
Upgrade Sail to Dacron 45 SF -- allow 3 to 6 weeks for delivery Order this item to delete the nylon sail from your sail rig order and substitute a 45 SF dacron sail. Made to order so you choose the color or colors. Dacron marginally outperforms the standard nylon sail in terms of power & upwind sailing ability, but we don't really see much performance difference in our test. This is offered for the real sailing enthusiast who is willing to pay extra for a extra quality and a wide choice of colors. Sail color page .
Canoe leeboards mount to stabilizer crossbar Canoe leeboards mount to same crossbar as stabilizers (outriggers). Leeboards are large blades that slice through the water making it easier to go straight and harder to get pushed sideways by the wind or erratic paddling. Includes mounting fittings and knob bolts to attach to crossbar of our stabilizers (outriggers), so you can use both at once. Leeboards swing back and up if they hit submerged obstruction or beach. Already included in sail kits.
Upgrade Stabilizer Floats to Hydro-Dynamic Adding this item to your cart will upgrade the floats on a sail kit or stabilizer system that is already in your shopping cart from foam floats to hydo-dynamic floats. Hydo-dynamic floats are longer and more streamlined than the standard foam floats. So, they cause less drag when going through the water. They are also stronger in their ability to stay pointed straight ahead despite the forces exerted against them by motoring or hard sailing. Users who keep their floats out of the water when moving most of the time, so drag is not a consideration for them, should not spend the extra money to upgrade. You must have another item in your shopping cart that has foam floats in order for this item to have something to upgrade. MORE DETAILS CLICK HERE
Clamp-on Rudder Mount For Hard-Transom Boats Drop this on your boat's transom, turn one knob, and you're ready for our rudder. Rudder mounts to it just by sliding pin through the eyes on the rudder mount and the eyes on the rudder. For Zodiac-type hard-transom boats and rigid fishing boats. Not required if you're willing to install eyebolts directly into your transom, but this accessory eliminates need for drilling. FOR DETAILS CLICK HERE
Rudder itself is included with rigs for Zodiacs and one of the fishing boat deluxe packages (item 7002), or purchase separately (item 7003).
Rowing Outriggers for Canoe Gives you oar pivot points farther apart than width of the canoe, for better leverage when rowing. Requires crossbar and gunwale clamps from our canoe stabilizer or canoe sail kit. One end of each rowing outrigger snaps into crossbar. Oars, seat, crossbar sold separately. Accepts 1/2" diameter oarpin (same as the pin on our steering oars). If you need crossbar and clamps (i.e., maybe you are getting a sail kit, but don't want the rowing setup to share parts with the sailing setup) they can be ordered separately.
Steering Oar & Oarpin Flat-bladed 7' oar with clamp-on oarpin. Use with our sail kits and canoe rowing attachment. Sail kits come with one, but you may like to have a second one. It's very convenient, when sailing, to have steering oars on both sides. You don't use them both at once for steering, but it allows you to steer with either hand without having to shift the steering oar from side to side.
Add-on Canoe Seat Add a canoe seat quickly and easily with this clamp-on design. Low center of gravity. Good as rowing seat with our rowing attachment, or add a seat anywhere on the canoe for passenger or center-position solo paddling. Telescopes from 32 to 38 inches to fit most canoes (special orders for other widths possible). You sit on durable, comfy ethafoam. With clamps.
Canoe crossbar and gunwale clamps Aluminum clamp-on crossbar with two square tubes in it that accept our stabilizer float arms, pop-in leeboard mounts, and/or rowing outriggers. Pre-drilled for the spring-buttons that lock in the attachments. Pair of gunwale clamps included. Standard lengths are 30", 36", 40", 45". Email Jim@sailboatstogo.com and specify length after you order. Custom lengths possible. If you have our canoe stabilizer or canoe sail kit, then you already have one of these.
55 Sq. Ft. Nylon Sail and Spar Extension Go faster when the winds are not strong. This yellow & white 55 SF sail fits any of our sailboats or sail rigs, by adding a spar extension (included with sail). Heavy duty mast is highly recommended with this sail, unless you are sure your winds will always be light. If you want to substitute this sail for the standard sail on something you are ordering today, then order item 5011 instead. Item 5011 is for upgrading. This item is for buying the sail on its own.
Heavy duty mast Heavy duty mast fits our sailboats and sail rigs, Spring Creek and Sea Eagle Paddleski. Bottom section (which takes most strain) is twice as strong as standard mast. Use this item to buy the mast not as an upgrade.
Use item 5016 instead to upgrade the mast on a sailboat or sail rig you are ordering today. (Note: Mast upgrade is free is you also select item 5011, upgrade to larger sail, and select the nylon sail option).
This mast will not fit Sunflower and Snark sailboats. Those are listed separately.
Canoe gunwale clamps - email Jim@sailboatstogo.com & specify small or large For clamping crossbars to your canoe. Send email to Jim@sailboatsToGo.com specifying large width clamp (about 3" between the legs of the u-bolt) or small (about 1.5").
Tip: With a pair of small clamps, a drill and a board, you can make the rough equivalent of our gunwale seat and save some money.
Motor mount for Canoe - Hinged Designed for trolling motors, this canoe motor mount is hinged so that your trolling motor will flip up automatically if it hits an underwater obstruction. Clamps onto your canoe gunwales without tools. Electric motors only. Without the extension (item 5054) this only fits the extreme rear part of a canoe, where canoes are very narrow. With extension, fits up to 30 inch width, so you can move motor farther forward. Unhinged version, next item.
Motor mount for Canoe - Super Strong for up to 3 HP Similar to hinged motor mount (item 5052) but rigid and stronger with bigger block for mounting motor. Great for electrics and also gas motors up to 3 HP. Maximum motor weight is 35 lbs. Sized to mount at extreme rear of canoe, where canoes are very narrow, but with extension (item 5054) can fit up to 30 inch width. Safety note: Motoring solo from the rear seat of a canoe is dangerous, because the uneven weight distribution puts the bow up in the air, and then the thrust of the motor can put it more up in the air, to the point where you could flip or swamp. At a minimum, put some weight up front. Better yet, turn canoe around and use the bow seat as the rear seat, which will put you and the motor closer to the middle. A set of our leeboards will improve steering control and help you fight crosswinds (item 5056). Set of our canoe stabilizers also strongly recommended for side-to-side stability.
extension for canoe motor mounts Fits either item 5052 or 5053 so that you can move the motor mount foward on your canoe. Most canoe motor mounts won't accomodate the width of a canoe anywhere but very close to the stern. This extension allows either of the two preceding motor mounts to go up to 30 inchs. (Low shipping cost assumes you are buying other items. If purchased solo, we will add $5 shipping).
Snap-in Motor Mount Motor mount snaps into end of our stabilizer crossbar or front crossbar of sail kit. The telescoping arm of your stabilizer float passes right through the motor mount and engages the stabilizer crossbar normally.
Leeboards and moveable mounting for canoe Clamp this leeboard set onto your canoe near the front to help you go straight. Leeboards are like paddle blades in the water, aligned to help you go straight. Greatly improves steering control and resistance to crosswinds when motoring and allows you to move the motor location forward without loss of steering ability. Motoring from the extreme rear of a canoe can be dangerous (risk of swamping or tipping). Motoring in a crosswind can present control problems. Add leeboards, move motor farther from rear end (using an add-on seat or by turning canoe around and using bow seat as the stern seat) and these problems are reduced. Stabilizers also recommended for motoring. Leeboards help with paddling and rowing too, but effect is not as dramatic. Unit includes: Telescoping crossbar with threaded ends to accept leeboard bolts, 2 leeboard and mounting bolts with hand knobs, pair of gunwale clamps. No-tool, no drill mounting system; adjustable to fit all canoes.
Electric Motor Package A 30-lb thrust electric trolling motor and a convenient rechargeable power pack with built-in charger and power meter and carry handle. We put this together with convenience in mind: Ordinarily, you buy a motor, then you have to go shopping for a battery and then a charger and when you're done you've got a system that's not so convenient to carry, store, charge and live with in your boat. With this package, the battery is thin and tall and can easily be strapped to a canoe thwart or inflatable grab line (strap included), is not so heavy (20 lbs), has built in charger for AC or charge while you drive from car cigarette lighter, has built-in power meter, and is in a sealed case - no worry ever about spilling battery acid! Yet it has enough power to take you 2 miles on one charge (20 amp-hour). Want 4-mile range? Buy second power pack. Power pack is a truck jump starter and will also start your car in an emergency using its included cables. Has accessory output (cigarette lighter style socket). Motor is light (22 lbs), quiet, smooth, powerful; has 5 forward and 3 reverse speeds, extending tiller, and plenty of power for canoe or inflatable. No smell, no noise, no gasoline fumes or hazards in your boat or car. Use of motor in salt water will void warranty, but if you rinse salt off thoroughly after each use you can get away with it. Click arrow twice to play video !!
Motor mount for your canoe or inflatable sold separately (not included).
Additional battery units for motor package 20-amp-hour power pack in sealed unit with built in AC and DC charging functions, power meter and carry handle. Includes cables to jump start a vehicle and accessory outlet for anything with a cigarette-lighter type plug (e.g., air pump, gps, radio, vacuum, light). One unit powers canoe or inflatable about 2 miles on one charge (your mileage may vary).

kayak Kart, Dinghy Dolly, Boat Buggy, Canoe Cart with 16 Same as item 5059 but with 16"-diameter balloon tires (like wheel on a contractor's wheelbarrow) which are better for soft ground or sand. The 12" wheels on item 5059 will also work on sand with a lightweight boat, but the fatter, bigger 16" tires will roll easier.
12" slip-on canoe wheels for stabilizer or sail kit Like item 5006 but with 12" thin tire instead of 16" balloon tires. Attaches to our stabilizer or sail kit so you can roll your canoe or kayak to or from the water

High Seat SR - Seating Surface For Crossbar Turns our double-tube crossbar (item 5034) into a seat. Add this seating surface to our canoe stabilizer and now you've got a combination stabilizer and seat. It's a wide, flat, bench seat (7 1/2" x 40"), so it could also be used as a table or workbench afloat. Plug our rowing outriggers (item 5030) into the crossbar underneath and it serves as a great rowing seat -- nice to have the crossbar under you instead of in front of you! This seat cannot be used by itself. It requires the double-tube crossbar under it. Crossbar comes with our stabilizers, or many of our rowing packages. Or can be purchase separately.

Ethafoam canoe sponsons - foam flotation - 1 pair Some canoes will sink if swamped. Sponsons add flotation to help keep swamped canoe afloat. Might save your canoe, might even save the life of a person clinging to overturned canoe. Each sponson is a 4" diameter half-round, that is 9 feet long. Together, the pair of sponsons provide about 45 lbs of flotation (meaning they displace 45 lbs of water) which might make the crucial difference between sinking and floating. Add a pair of our stabilizer floats, and there's another 50 lbs (approx) of flotation. Sponsons also add a little stability, act as a splash rail to deflect spray when motoring or sailing, and a rub rail (bumper) when alongside a dock or another canoe (might save mashed finger!). Bolt on (bolts provided) or glue on. black. More Info
Leeboard upgrade - convert your purchase to unbreakable blade Add this item to your cart to delete standard leeboards from a product you are purchasing now and substitute leeboards with unbreakable, larger blades. Polycarbonate plastic used in these blades will not shatter, crack or break. Also, blade is designed to put more blade area into the water (and therefore fight side slip better) on downwind side as boat heels (tilts). Details: Click Here

Width extender for folding boat cart - 15" or email Jim@sailboatsToGo.com for other lengths This 15" extension snaps into the middle of the folding canoe/kayak/boat cart to make a wider cart that's just as portable. Bag for sail rigs - big & heavy duty Big enough for the canoe or kayak rig including the foam stabilizer floats, with a handy pouch compartment for small parts. Also good for the inflatable boat rig. Heavily padded shoulder strap and suitcase-type handle. Strong fabric and strong zipper. Get it for the inflatable boat sail rig even if you don't get stabilizers, so you'll have extra room for a towel and a life jacket and a few other odds and ends. Although it's too big for the airline free baggage allowance, they will usually make an exception for sporting equipment like golf clubs (which this looks like) or wind surfing equipment, so why not this?
Braces for foam floats If you sail or motor with foam floats pressed hard on the water and moving fast in the water, the foam floats may eventually develop some play between the float and the vertical tube it is mounted on. A pair of these braces will help keep the foam floats pointed straight ahead, preventing that play from developing, or correcting it if it has already developed. Not needed with hydrodynamic floats nor with foam floats in moderate use. Braces may only be used with floats in up position but floats are easily released from braces to go into down position.
Additional Shipping to UK, Europe or Japan for a sail rig without stabilizer floats or most boats Added shipping charges for western Europe, Japan, Argentina & UK for a sail rig (for canoe, kayak or inflatable) that does not have rigid stabilizer floats. Also applicable for shipping boats under 40 lbs. or sail kits with inflatable stabilizer floats. Use item 1999 for shipping a rig with rigid stabilizer floats. Shipping will be by priority airmail parcel post. For Eastern Europe, Australia and other countries please email jim@sailboatstogo.com .
Sail kit bag with wheels - Big & heavy duty Big and heavy duty bag with wheels that make it ideal for airline travel. Padded to protect your sail kit parts. Full-length heavy-duty zipper. Outside pocket for small parts. Inside straps to secure the contents.
Fishing Boat Sail Rig Everything you need to sail your fishing boat in a compact folding kit that just clamps on and away you go. No drilling or other modification of your boat is needed. This is intended for aluminum, fiberglass and plastic open boats. The gunwale clamps grab underneath the little horizontal lip that almost all such boats have at the top edge of the sides. If your boat has no lip, we can provide a bolt-on bracket that the clamps can mate with for $19 additional. The rig includes a 45 s.f. nylon sail (red-white-blue-yellow), spars, mast, mast step (socket), frame that clamps to the boat and accepts the mast step and leeboard mounts, leeboards, gunwale clamps, a rear crossbar that goes just forward of the transom and provides pivot points for the ruddering oar, and a special wide-bladed ruddering oar and oarlock. You can even sail with an outboard mounted on the transom, because our ruddering oar (steering oar) system has many alternate pivot points: If the center positions are blocked by an outboard, use one of the side positions. If you prefer a traditional rudder, we offer that as an option. If you are willing to mount two eyebolts on the transom of your boat, you can have the traditional rudder instead of the steering oar system for $49 additional or if you want a clamp-on rudder mount and traditional rudder it's $98 as a substitution for the steering oar system . Another option to consider is a larger sail and stronger mast. The larger sail/stronger mast combination is $149 additional and the sail will be a 55 S.F. yellow & white sail with a black outline drawing of a Sunflower on it (item 5011). A spar extension to accomodate the larger sail is included in the upgrade price. Custom-made dacron sails are also available in both the 45 S.F. and 55 S.F. sizes -- you choose the colors and custom lettering is available at $7/letter. The upgrade to dacron costs $149 (item 5011), NOT including the stronger mast, so if you want the stronger mast with dacron order mast upgrade separately (item 5016). A heavy duty carry bag for the rig is $39 extra (item 6005). Or see item 7001 or 7002, deluxe packages. The picture illustrating this item shows a custom dacron sail that is 55 S.F. and has custom lettering with our company name. If you order a custom sail, you would choose colors; lettering saying whatever you want would be optional & cost $7/letter. LINK More pictures, video and details click here
Deluxe Fishing Boat Sail Rig Just like item 7000 (so please read that item) but in a deluxe package: Includes larger 55 SF nylon sail, spar extension, heavy duty mast, heavy-duty carrying bag. This is the steering oar version, which is the version that works with an outboard motor on the transom. The steering oar also has an advantage over a traditional rudder in that you can turn the boat with it even if you have no forward motion. A rudder requires the boat to be moving in order to work. A steering oar does not, so you can't get stuck "in irons" (pointed head-on into the wind and not moving). But a steering oar puts a little more strain on your arm than a rudder does in a strong wind.
Fishing Boat Sail Rig Deluxe Package 2 Same as 7001 except steering is by a traditional rudder. Install two eyebolts (included) on your transom to accept rudder pin or buy our clamp-on rudder mount. Includes larger sail, stronger mast, and carrybag as described in 7001.
Rudder Rudder with kick-up blade, aluminum body, tiller and rudder pin. Blade is made from extremely rugged polycarbonate -- the stuff high quality helmets are sometimes made of. Requires two eyebolts (included) be mounted to boat's transom to accept rudder pin, or you can use our clamp-on rudder mount (item 5029).
